Creative Summer Workshops are one-week or two-week long hands-on courses at CCAD for students in grades 1 – 12. Students interested in art can develop their skills in a creative and mentoring environment.

Listed below is the curriculum for each age group served with a Creative Summer Workshop. Register your student for the grade they are rising to in the fall.

Registration: Feb. 1 - Seven days before each class starts. 
Grades: 1-12.
Classes: Printmaking, Painting, Digital Media, Animation, Illustration, Drawing, Photography, Fashion Design, and more.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. 
Program cost: $195 per week, including tuition, registration, and all materials. Lunchtime childcare is available for $50 from noon to 1:30 p.m. for children who attend two workshops; please pack a lunch and bring a drink.

Curriculum

Grades 1-2
Learn about color in the Creating with Color and Imagination Laboratory.

Grades 3-4
Explore the hues and values of color, botanical art, paper toys, printmaking, and more.

Grades 5-6
Discover the foundations of drawing, painting, digital media, mini-comics, and flipbook animation.

Grades 7-9
Dig deeper into animation, digital photography, fashion design, expressive drawing, and stop-motion animation.

Grades 9-12
Explore animation, filmmaking, jewelry design, digital portfolios, fashion design, and more. These classes serve as a base for students looking to go into art and design after high school.

Noon Extended Care - Grades 1-12 
Students enrolled in both morning and afternoon Creative Summer Workshops may register for the noon Extended Care program.
